Tonight the lights went out in downtown Hamilton, Ala. The lights were off for about 30 minutes. In that time I was able to capture a photo of a starry night sky from a downtown vantage point, a shot impossible to capture when the lights are on. I attached my camera to my tripod, pointed it due east and began making exposures. This is a photo that I have been thinking about for a while now- a starry, night-scape in downtown while the power was off- but I never thought the situation would actually present itself. I was able to get one good photo while the power was down. Below are two photos, one I made while the lights were off and the other I made just after power returned. Enjoy.
