Today the Pentagon announced the official name for the air campaign against Islamic militants in Iraq and Syria- Inherent Resolve. According to a story on the Army Times website, the name Inherent Resolve was chosen by the staff of Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The story states that "Military operations are routinely given official names, in part for administrative reasons. They usually are meant also to bolster public support and international credibility." But here at the Palmer's Almanac we believe that international credibility and public support could be bolstered best by using some of the anagrams for Inherent Resolve, such as: herein resolvent, rhinestone lever, eviler enthrones, henneries revolt, enthrones veiler, or hole interveners. And as a note veiler is not an actual word but it is worth 9 points in Scrabble, and 11 points in Words with Friends.
